8 Mile is Coming.

A couple of months ago I saw the preview for 8 Mile and was drawn to the energy and authenticity I saw in it. That surprised me: I'm not really in Eminem's demographic.

I've been following the reviews and screenings, and it looks like I am not alone. There was a screening here in town at the university, which I missed (I think that one WAS geared for his demographics) but the review is here. This morning AOL is pointing to a longer discussion of Eminem in the New York Times.

I'll miss the opening as we're going up north to visit my brother. It's always great to be north of the 45th parallel.
